Import Duty & Tax Advancement Service – Detailed Terms
For international shipments, customs authorities in the destination country may impose import duties, value added tax (VAT), and customs processing or brokerage fees.
To facilitate smooth customs clearance and reduce delivery delays, Sign of Green GmbH may advance these charges to the carrier or the relevant customs authorities on behalf of the customer.
All such payments represent pass-through costs and are not taxes or fees imposed by Sign of Green GmbH.
The consignee remains the importer of record and is responsible for compliance with all local import regulations and requirements.
Import duties, VAT, brokerage charges, and any carrier advancement fees must be fully reimbursed by the customer once the carrier invoice is received.
Estimated costs may be calculated when the shipment label is created.
However, final amounts are determined exclusively by the destination country's customs authorities and the carrier's customs broker.Carrier invoices for such charges are often issued several weeks after delivery.
By selecting this service, the customer agrees that final import costs may differ from initial estimates and that any additional charges must be paid accordingly.This service does not modify the agreed Incoterm of the shipment.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, shipments are performed under DAP (Delivered At Place) terms.
